The Death Card
So, I just found out that some people are working on a Buffy Tarot Card set. I’m real excited. The people who do the cover art for the Dark Horse comic are painting these cards. They actually will have a story that somehow fits into the Buffy story.
The full story and interview can be found here at CBR.
I’m sure I’ll buy them. They’re really pretty. Here are a few previews:

Filed under Uncategorized | Comments (2)Marc Jacobs Becomes a Beautiful Butterfly!
“I don’t think the words ‘important’ and ‘fashion’ should be in the same sentence.”
You may or may not know that I am completely enamored with Marc Jacobs. Even if he WAS reponsible for this, his style and vision have been some of the most proflific to hit the fashion industry in the last decade. The 45-year-old designer runs his own line and is the creative head for Louis Vuitton. It’s a big job, and if you ever catch his documentary (which I highly recommend, it’s brilliant), I doubt few people would be jealous of his schedule and his daily life.
GQ has posted a great interview with Marc Jacobs, discussing his life, career, and what lead to his unexpected change in appearance.
We’ve witnessed his total physical transformation, read his increasingly outspoken comments, and wondered: What makes a highly successful man who’s the creative vision behind a $5 billion business resolve to change his body, dye his hair blue, date a former escort, and start speaking his mind? Well, ask the man himself…
…
Not that he didn’t struggle with his sexuality, with “being the only kid in a big group that doesn’t want to play football and buy stereos and drive cars. When I went to sleepaway camp, I just kind of wanted to sit there and make an ashtray or do a lanyard necklace or paint my jeans,” he says. “And then to stand there and not be chosen for a baseball team—it’s like, force me to do something and then don’t choose me to do it. Okay, what am I supposed to enjoy about that process? How am I supposed to feel good about myself with all that going on?”
…
Getting up to go have another cigarette, Jacobs turns to the woman at the next table.
“Nice dress,” he says.
“It’s yours,” she replies.
“I know!” he says, delighted.
…
“I’d walk in a room and all I’d think about is, How many people in this room hate me right now?” Jacobs says. “They think I’m ugly, or whatever. It was the idea of not living in the moment, of thinking you can control results by your actions, of not feeling good-looking enough, not tall enough, not clever enough—I guess that’s how I’ve felt pretty much most of my life.”
Definitely an interesting read. Check it out!
Filed under Uncategorized | Comment (0)It’s Not Easy Being Green
So, today I was perusing my local Barnes and Noble, and I realized that the Sustainability bandwagon had hit rock bottom, as an entire table display was devoted to being green.
Green Chic: Saving the Earth in Style particularly caught my eye. Apparently, saving the Earth that sustains us and gives us continuing life is only important as long as we’re still staying fashionable.
Furthermore, even magazines have hopped on board, with questionable results.
What does this cover suggest to you? Apparently, it’s Vanity Fair’s Annual Green issue. Is Madonna an enviornmentalist? No, not really…but her story appears to be more important than being green. This magazine has one or two articles about being “green”, followed by 15 pages on Madonna and 80 pages of ads. Seems a little hypocritical to have all of that waste. A real green issue would have cut to a minimum of advertising and contain only actual article content. I realize they have to make money, but have you seen Vanity Fair? It’s pretty thick.

A strong earthquake that rattled parts of southern Illinois and Indiana early this morning was felt in West Michigan, about 320 miles away.
The quake, given a preliminary magnitude of 5.2, occurred about 6 miles from Mount Carmel, Ill., and about 131 miles east of St. Louis, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It took place about 2 miles underground and struck about 5:36 a.m., USGS said.
“It shook our house where it woke me up,” said David Behm of Philo, Ill., 10 miles south of Champaign. “Windows were rattling, and you could hear it. The house was shaking inches. For people in central Illinois, this is a big deal. It’s not like California.”
The quake also shook skyscrapers in Chicago’s Loop and tall buildings in downtown Indianapolis. It was felt in Milwaukee and Cincinnati as well.
Irvetta McMurtry of Cincinnati said she felt the rattling for up to 20 seconds.
“All of a sudden, I was awakened by this rumbling shaking,” said McMurtry, 43. “My bed is an older wood frame bed, so the bed started to creak and shake, and it was almost like somebody was taking my mattress and moving it back and forth.”
“Oh, yeah, I felt it. It was interesting,” Griswold said. “A lot of shaking.”
Indiana State Police spokesman Sgt. Todd Ringle in Evansville, about 38 miles from the epicenter, said there were no immediate reports of damage.
A 5.2 quake can cause considerable damage.
Grand Rapids police dispatchers felt the building shake around 5:30.
Lt. Larry Frye said a couple of dispatchers who work on the fourth floor of Grand Rapids headquarters called him to find out if he felt anything in his lower floor office. He did not notice any tremors.
The USGS received reports from all over West Michigan, including Grand Rapids, Ada, Caledonia, Holland, Wayland and Trufant
The quake occurred in the Illinois basin-Ozark dome region that covers parts of Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, Missouri, and Arkansas and stretches from Indianapolis and St. Louis to Memphis, according to the USGS.

I feel like it’s time for the Olsen Twins to return to television. We miss them and I feel like it could only help their current situation.
Mary Kate and Ashley, help us help you!
Feel free to leave some plot ideas for their show in the comments. ![]()
Not Saved by the Bell
It seems curious that two ex-Saved by the Bell stars are back on television…hosting
reality dance shows. Mario Lopez (sans greasy curls) can be found on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew and Elizabeth Berkeley (still a Showgirl) is hosting Step It Up and Dance on Bravo. Why them? Why now? And what is everyone else up to these days?
Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zach): Since NYPD Blue ended, Mark-Paul has been doing a few TV things here and there, and living life with his wife and children. Cute.
Dustin Diamond (Screech): Well, you may have experienced his homelessness and his Celebrity Fit Club flip-out, but otherwise, that’s pretty much it. He’s the only cast member who stays in touch with Dennis Haskins. I sense there being a reason for that.
Lark Voorhies (Lisa): Did you know she’s the niece of Jermaine Jackson? IMDB would suggest that we might be seeing more of Lark in 2008, but who knows if what she’s doing will ever been seen by human eyes.
Tiffany Thiessen (Kelly): She’s been doing a lot of TV lately, including a role on What About Brian? Tiffany is probably the most successful of the SBTB alum, along with Mark-Paul.
Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding): He’s actually running the college circuit. I kid you not. I think we’re reaching the cusp of college students even knowing what Saved By The Bell is.
So will these dance shows be the boost our actors need to rise out of obscurity? All I know, is that if Lark Voorhies ends up hosting Dancing with the Stars, I quit.

Lily Allen has “leaked” 2 songs from her upcoming album that you can listen to on her myspace. Good
move? Bad move? You decide. I’m also questioning her decision to go blonde.
Here’s what her Myspace blog has to say:
